THE BASICS:
Transylvania visits the Mount St. Joseph Lions in an exciting conference match-up. The Lions win in a dominate fashion on senior night as they sent the Pioneers home after 3 sets
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The night started off with the recognition of the Lions seniors Hannah Losey and Jessica Wilgenbusch. They were accompanied by their parents as they walked onto the court and were recognized by their teammates, coaches, and fans. As the pre-game activities set the atmosphere the lions were determined to set the tone early.
The first set started off pretty even as both teams were trading points back and forth. The score was 13-12 when the lions started to gain the momentum and take control. After some hard fought points, the lions finished off the set strong with a miraculous kill from senior Jessica Wilgenbusch to win the first set 25-15.
The Lions took the early lead and looked comfortable during the second set. They didn't allow the Pioneers to get the lead the entire match, and with multiple spectacular plays the lions were able to beat the Pioneers 25-18 to take the advantage going into the third set.
Relentlessly the Lions continued to stay ahead of the Pioneers in the third set. After taking the lead early the Lions were able to finish strong and defeat Transylvania 25-18 with the final kill coming from Cailey Plemmons.
STANDOUTS:
