THE BASICS:

Mount St. Joseph faced off against Anderson University in their first conference match-up of 2016 and was able to come away with a victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Mount St. Joseph brought their incredible defense to the stadium again on Saturday, shutting out their fourth opponent of the season.  Their first conference match of the season was a tough one with a lot of physical play throughout.  Teddy Kerr put the Lions on the board first, scoring a goal off of a penalty kick late in the first half.

The Lions would convert on another penalty kick in the second half when Seth Freppon knocked one into the back of the net.  Only minutes later Joseph Glisson was able to score a goal off of an assist from Nathan Mueller, stretching the Lions lead to 3-0 and putting the match out of reach.

THE STANDOUTS:

The Lions had a great performance turned in by every member of their team.  All three goals and the one Lion assist were tallied by different players.  At the same time, the Lions defense held the Ravens scoreless.
