THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph (9-4-3) starts fast, scoring 3 goals in the first half and earning their 4th HCAC victory of 2016.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The first half showed contained some fireworks by the Lion offense. Seth Freppon seemingly led the offensive charge by Mount St. Joseph against Manchester. Freppon was able to work his was through the opposing defense and put the Lions up 1-0 on a goal less than six minutes into the match. Shortly after Freppon's goal, Manchester would tie the game on a penalty shot, scoring their only goal of the afternoon.
In the 15th minute of the match Teddy Kerr was able to find the back of the net off of an assist by Nathan Hornback, taking the lead back for the Lions. Near the end of the first half Brycen Evans got in on the offensive action, scoring on a header off of an assist by Freppon, making the score 3-1 going into halftime. In a change of events after a heavily offensive match in the first half, the second half featured no goals for either side, propelling the Lions to a 3-1 HCAC victory.
STANDOUTS:
Seth Freppon earned the outstanding player nomination for his performance on Saturday. He scored the first goal of the match and later assisted on another scoring play by the Lions.
