THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph (11-6-1) played an outstanding match, scoring 7 goals and gaining momentum as they head into the HCAC tournament next week.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Mount St. Joseph played well in all phases of their match on Saturday. The Lions went up early on Defiance, scoring a goal within the first 10 minutes of the match. They also added a goal directly before the first half ended, making the halftime score 2-0 in favor of the Lions. The Lions came out even stronger in the second half, scoring only two minutes into the half. They then added 3 goals within a span of about 10 minutes midway through the half, as well as another goal in the 71st minute.
STANDOUTS:
Stefanie Autenrieb played a great match against Defiance. She scored 2 goals in the second half of the match, helping the Lions put the match away and propel them towards the HCAC tournament.
