THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph (6-4-1) took on Transylvania (0-8-2) in their second conference match of the season and came away victorious.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Mount St. Joseph brought stellar defense to the field again on Wednesday, shutting out a conference opponent for a second time in as many tries. Going into halftime both sides were scoreless but that wouldn't last long. In the 68th minute Jasmine Cahill found the back of the net on a free kick from just outside the goalie box. That gave the Lions a 1-0 lead which they held on to for the remainder of the match.
STANDOUTS:
Jasmine Cahill was our standout player of the game today, scoring the only goal of the game and leading the Lions to a 2-0 start in conference play.
