THE BASICS:
MSJ take down the Quakers 3-2, getting the Lions back in the win column. The Lions earn their 9th win of the season and 1st in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lions came ready to play taking the first set in convincing fashion winning 25-19. The home team would rally taking the second set 25-19, tying the match 1-1. The Quakers would take their momentum into the 3rd set, beating MSJ 25-22, earning the lead 2-1. MSJ wouldn't go quietly, beating EC 25-20 in the 4th set, tying things up 2-2. The match would go to the Lions in the fifth and final set. The Mount would win the 5th set 15-12 and the match.
Jessica Wilgenbush finished the match with another double-double (16 kills, 13 digs). Riley Brunner lead MSJ with 17 kills. Cailey Clemmons and Briana Looney chipped in 13 and 10 killls in the winning effort.
Kama Charles lead both teams with 38 digs, defensively. Lynsee Spatz picked up 13 digs while Sydney Wilzbach finished with 9 digs.
UP NEXT:
The Mount will travel to Manchester University on Oct. 15th for a tri-match vs. host school Manchester and Adrian College. MSJ will play Manchester at 1pm and Adrian at 3pm.
