THE BASICS:
The Lions had a great season, making the HCAC tournament for only the second time in program history. However, they fell behind early against Rose-Hulman and could not come back against the Engineers.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Mount St. Joseph fell behind early against the Engineers, as they allowed the first goal of the match less than ten minutes into the match. The Engineers would add a second goal before the match reached the 20 minute mark, giving them a decisive 2-0 lead. The Lions would not be able to answer in the first half, as they went into halftime down by two scores. The Engineers came out firing again in the second half, scoring a goal in the 77th minute to put them up 3-0. With less than five minutes to go in the match Zachary Tegge scored a goal for the Lions to put them on the board. However, it was too late for the Lions to mount a comeback and they fell to Rose-Hulman 3-1, effectively ending their season.
STANDOUTS:
Zachary Tegge scored the only goal for the Lions, putting them on the board and giving them a shot to make things interesting late in the match.
