Mount St. Joseph travels to Anderson to open HCAC play

LOCATION: O.C. Lewis Gymnasium (Anderson, IN)

THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph (8-7, 0-1 HCAC) traveled to Anderson University to open the HCAC schedule. And they dropped a tough 5 set match. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Lions and Ravens traded games the entire match. The Lions were able to jump out winning the first two games of the set. The first game was extremely close, the final score 25-23 in favor of the Lions. The score knotted at 23 the Lions sent Riley Brunner to the service line. She delivered helping the Lions score the next two points to close out the game, one of those points was won on the strength of a Brunner ace.

The second game the Lions were in a similar situation, with the score tied at 20. The Lions were able to score the next five points to claim game two 25-20.

Mount St. Joseph was unable to close out the match though as Anderson stormed back to win the next three games, 25-17, 25-22, and 15-12. Taking a very tough loss on the road in conference.

STANDOUTS:

Lynsee Spatz had a fantastic game setting for the Lions hitters, as she delivered 54 assists in the match. 

Josie Andres had a good night hitting, she delivered 12 kills in 26 attempts for a .269 percentage.

UP NEXT:

The Lions play host over the weekend to Otterbein as well as HCAC opponents Defiance and Rose-Hulman.
