THE BASICS:
The Lions traveled to take on Anderson University in their first conference match of the year. Leading early in the match the Lions weren't able to find the goal again dropping the match 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lions controlled the tempo early in the game. They were able to keep the defense on their toes with multiple shots on goal. The Lions would strike first with a goal from Zachary Tegge (Cincinnati, Ohio / LaSalle) in the 26th minute to give them the lead. They would continue to dominate the first half by keeping the ball on Anderson's half of the field. The Mount was able to hold their lead going into the half. Anderson came back firing in the second half with a quick goal to stun the Lions in the 50th minute. With the score tied both teams fought to take the lead. Anderson was able to find the net soon after the equalizer to take the lead 2-1. The Lions continued to take shots even until the final minutes but weren't able to connect. Anderson was able to keep the lead and won the match 2-1.
THE STANDOUTS:
Zachary Tegge scored the lone goal for the Lions resulting in his first goal of the season. Conner Spivey (Florence, KY / Dixie Heights) defended the goal for the Lions defense grabbing four saves.

The Lions (3-6-2) will be playing another conference matchup against Transylvania University (8-0) this Wednesday 10/4 at Schueler Field starting at 7PM.
