THE BASICS:
The Lions traveled to Ohio Wesleyan University to take on the Battling Bishops in a Thursday night matchup.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lions struggled getting out of the gate and found themselves at a deficit early in the set. The Lions were able to bring the match back but the Bishops continued to take the lead back. They were able to bring the set back within three points but back to back errors gave Ohio Wesleyan the first set 25-20. The Lions picked up their play in the second set to take a quick 5-1 lead. Ohio Wesleyan was able to bring the score back but the Lions kept a slight lead for most of the set. The Lions were able to hold off the Bishops in the final points and a kill from Briana Looney () gave the Lions the second set 25-22. The Lions were able to continue their momentum early in the set but the Bishops were able to counter to take the lead. Ohio Wesleyan continued to earn points and the Lions couldn't keep up. The deficit was too much for the Lions as they would drop the third set 25-15. The Lions struggles continued into the final set as they would find themselves down. Going into the final points the Lions were able to string together a run but weren't able to come back, falling to the Battling Bishops 25-17 and 3-1.
LIONHEARTED PERFORMANCE:
Riley Brunner earns the LionHearted Performance in the match against Ohio Wesleyan University where she earned 14 kills and 17 digs.
