Lions fall to Ohio Christian on Road Opener

Box Score

Location: Soccer Complex (Circleville, OH)

The Basics:

The Lions headed to Ohio Christian University to take on the Trailblazers in their first away match of the season.  The first half came and went ending with a score of 0-0. The second half started similar to the first until balls started finding the back of the end finishing with a score not in Mount's favor of 3-1.

How it Happened:

The Lions and the Trailblazers battled back and forth both ending the half with three shots on goal. Neither team was able to find the back of the net to take the lead. Mount transformed freshman goalie Nathan Folop (West Harrison, IN/ Oldenburg) tied OCU's goalkeeper with three saves for the first half.  The Trailblazer were the first ones to find the back of the net. The Lions fought back but couldn't get the drop on OCU before they were able to sneak in to get a pair of goals before the Mount's own Seth Freppon (Cold Spring, KY / Newport Central Catholic) was able to put one on the board on a penalty kick bringing the score to 3-1. The Lions shot vigorously with a few minutes left in the game but couldn't take home the victory. The ended up falling to the Trailblazers 3-1.

Standouts:

The standouts for tonight's game is senior and captain Freppon who gets the Mount's first goal of the season and 14th of his career.
