Haberthy Sets New Career Scoring Record in Lions Win Over Heidelberg

CINCINNATI, Ohio - On Saturday November 20, your Mount St. Joseph Lions hosted the Heidelberg Student Princes. The game started off quick with history made as Senior Maddie Haberthy knocked down the record breaking shot with 5:48 in the first quarter. That basket gave Maddie her 1,451 career point pushing her past Julie Biermann's 1,450 and makes her the all-time scoring leader in Mount St. Joseph women's basketball history.

The first quarter was a game of runs as the lead changed 3 times early on but was capped off by a Mount 6-0 run to finish the quarter on top 16-10. Two big three pointers late in the quarter by Seniors Maddie Haberthy and Haley Scott both assisted by the Junior Chloe Jansen.

In the second quarter The Mount would once again come out fast and score the first 5 points before Heidelberg put an end to the run with a couple baskets of their own. The Mount boosted their lead to 13 as the Lions hit the half by shooting 50% from the field and knocking down 3 big three pointers.

In the third quarter the game went back and forth.
