Lions Capture Road Win Over Franklin College

Franklin, IN— The Mount St. Joseph University Lions Men's Soccer team traveled to Franklin College for a match Saturday, March 13 against the Grizzlies of Franklin.  The Lions were victorious in their efforts, as they were able to come home with a 2-1 road victory.

The Lions were able to catch a very early lead, with Freshman Micheal Abel scoring at the 1:42 mark in the game.  Abel's goal allows him to continue his scoring streak, scoring in the last three games, totaling 4 goals along with an assist.  This was the lone score of the first half, despite getting 5 shots off.  Defensively the Lions were strong not allowing a score in the first, allowing them to go into the half with a 1-0 lead.

Starting the second half, the Mount was able to score once of the half thanks to Tristen Miller goal coming at the 54:30 mark.  This gave the Lions a 2-0 lead.  However Franklin did make an attempt at a comeback, as they scored their lone goal at the 65:31 mark.  The strong performance for the Lions allowed them to walk away with a 2-1 victory.
