RICHMOND, Ind. - On Saturday, October 1st your Mount St. Joseph University Lions traveled to Earlham College to take on the Quakers in a HCAC matchup. The Lions offense was impressive netting a pair of goals in the first half followed by three more in the second half. Four different Lions scored in the victory including a pair of goals from Freshman
Ashley Bley.
In the first half, the Lions got their offense started early. Sophomore McKenzie Schneeman pushed across the first goal of the game in just the 4th minute of play. The Lions wasted no time adding to their lead scoring again in the 7th minute. This time is was Senior
Zoe Sanford scoring her first goal of the season and pushing the Lions ahead 2-0. The Lions defense was impressive as well as goalkeeper
Madison Hart was not called upon once in the first half as the Lions led 2-0.
In the second half of play, the Lions again controlled the pace of the game. The Lions quickly pushed the attack and just 11 minutes into the 2nd half, The Mount would extend their lead. This time it was Senior
Catherine Hatfield netting the goal with Sophomore
Graycie Collins on the assist giving the Lions a 3-0 advantage. The Lions struck again just 8 minutes later in the 64th minute as Freshman
Ashley Bley netted her first career goal giving the Lions a 4-0 lead. Bley added another in the 71st minute stretching the Lions lead to 5-0. After full time the Lions would rise victorious defeating Earlham 5-0.
