CINCINNATI, Ohio - On Saturday, October 29nd your Mount St. Joseph University Lions welcomed the Spartans of Manchester University to the Harrington Center for their final HCAC matchup of the season. The Lions would honor their six seniors before the game and did not disappoint cruising past the Spartans in straight sets winning, 25-13, 26-24, and 25-20.
In the first set, The Lions would waste no time jumping out to a dominant 8-2 lead. As the Spartans began to draw closer, Junior Libero
Erin Androne would have three straight service aces which would be four total on the set. A kill by
Chloe Burton and a Spartans hitting error would put the finishing touches on set one as the Mount would earn the 25-13 victory.
In the second set, The Mount would come out to a slow start. Manchester would take a commanding 7-3 lead before the Mount started digging out of the hole. Burton would once again be the leader in the comeback as she would add two kills to draw the set back to 8-8. Down the stretch of set two a trio of Lions would find a way to bring the Mount ahead.

Morgan Whitaker, and Senior
Kyla Henderson would be the leaders as a Henderson kill gave the Mount a 26-24 win.
In the final set of the day, The Lions would once again jump out quickly to an 8-2 lead which was sparked by Whitaker and Senior
Brooke Aselage. The Lions lead would slowly be trimmed as Manchester would draw even at 16. Aselage would then lead a four-point service run as the Lions took advantage once again of Spartans hitting errors.
Chloe Burton,
Addie Conley, and
Morgan Whitaker would put the final touches on the match as the Lions win set three by the score of 25-20.
The Mount would be led offensively by
Morgan Whitaker with 10 kills.
Brooke Aselage would also have a respectable 9 kills and 12 digs on the night. Libero
Erin Androne led the Lions in digs with 18 on the day.
Up next for the Mount, they will await the winner of Bluffton vs. Earlham in the HCAC Quarterfinal Round. Their Semi-Final match will be Saturday, November 5
th at 5pm. The game will take place at Transylvania University.
