Lions Tie Rose-Hulman to Open Up HCAC Play

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - On Wednesday, September 28th your Mount St. Joseph University Lions traveled to Rose-Hulman to open up 2022 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. Each squad entered the match with high expectations from a year ago. The Mount finished as the regular season HCAC Champions while Rose-Hulman finished 3rd in the regular season HCAC ranks last season. With a clean slate, the Lions were hoping to take down a top conference foe to begin HCAC play.

In the first half, each squad scrambled for opportunities. Each team had their share of chances on the net with The Mount firing 8 shots and Rose-Hulman firing 9. At the half, nobody could find the net leaving the score at 0-0.

In the second half, the Lions defense would continue to stand tall. The Fightin' Engineers continued to flood the net with shots but Freshman goalkeeper Alyse Harris was up to the task. Rose-Hulman added 8 more shots to their total in the second half but could not find the net. After 90 minutes of play, The Mount tied Rose-Hulman 0-0.

Goalkeeper Alyse Harris had another fantastic game protecting the net. Harris earned her 2nd straight clean sweep while making 7 saves in the draw.
