CINCINNATI, Ohio – On Sunday, September 10
th, your Mount St. Joseph University Lions welcomed the Capital University Comets to Schueler Field for the second home match of the weekend. The Lions lead scorer,
Mckenzie Schneeman, found the back of the net with a beautiful shot from well outside the 18. Unfortunately, the Comets drew a foul about 20 minutes into the second half and found the back of the net sealing the 1-1 draw for the night.
In the first half, your MSJ Lions started off the offensive push early with shots from Schneeman,
Paige Adams, and
Kerigan Pollard all within the first 10 minutes of play. Shortly after, in the 20
th minute of play,
Paige Adams found the ball in the center of the field and passed it to
Mckenzie Schneeman. Schneeman charged forward and rocketed a shot into the upper 90 from 30 yards out to get an early lead on the game.
In the second half, the Lions had a significant offensive presence with 7 shots on the Comets, but they were not able to find another goal. About halfway through the half, the Comets drew a controversial foul that led to a free kick resulting in a tie game for the Lions. The Lions had many more attempts on goal including one from defender,
Molly Sheridan, but they were not able to find the back of the net.
