Cincinnati, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph University Women's Soccer team pulled off a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Hanover College in a tightly contested match. The Lions dominated the attack with 18 shots, while Hanover managed nine.
The Mount struck early with McKenzie Schneeman scoring the opening goal in the 8th minute, assisted by Kerigan Pollard. With the score tied 1-1 late in the second half, Payge Callahan delivered the game-winner in the 78th minute, heading in a cross from Ella Pittman to secure the lead.
Hanover's only goal came from a penalty kick, but goalkeeper Jordan Schneider stood tall, making six crucial saves to preserve the win. The match was physical, but the Lions' resilience paid off as they held on to claim victory.
