CINCINNATI, Ohio – Over the weekend, the Mount St. Joseph men's soccer team hosted the Franklin Grizzlies to Schueler Field for homecoming weekend. Franklin were the ones to open the scoring early in the first half. MSJ was able to register 12 first half shots, but they were not able to finish any of them. After the Grizzlies scored in the seventh minute, they were able to hold onto their 1-0 lead through the remainder of the first half.
The Mount made the right adjustments at the break, and just two minutes into the second half, the Lions'
Mohit Naphray netted his third goal in the last four games to even the match at one. With just five minutes left in the game, the ball fell to
Derek Rolfes in the box, and he was able to poke the it past the keeper and score the game winner for MSJ. This would bring homecoming weekend to a close with home victories from each of the football team, women's soccer team, and men's soccer team on Saturday.
UP NEXT: With this win, the Lions move to 4-9-1 on the season (2-3-1 in the HCAC); they will go on the road this Wednesday to take on Blufton.
