Women's Volleyball Stays Unbeaten in HCAC with Win at Rose

TERRE HAUTE, Indiana - The Mount St. Joseph women's volleyball team hit the road on Saturday, heading west to Terre Haute, Indiana to take on the Fightin' Engineers of Rose-Hulman. The Lions would take down Rose-Hulman in a five set thriller to move to 3-0 in HCAC play.

The Lions opened the match by winning a tight first set 25-21, Rose-Hulman quickly fought back to take the second and third sets. As they looked to secure the win, the Lions were able to dominant the fourth set to force a winner-take-all fifth set. 

In that fifth set the Mount got off to an extremely fast start, opening the set winning eight of the first nine points. Emma Sicking and Hannah Justice each had a pair of kills in the run. Rose would make a late run, but Aubrey Miranda put them away with a big kill to secure the win.

Emma Sicking led the way offensively for the Lions with a match-high 22 kills. Three other Lions were registered double-figure kills they were Miranda (12), Justice (12) and Sydney Doty (11). Grace WIlking had a season-high 35 digs in the match from the libero spot, and setter Jasmine Butler once again delivered a double-double with 45 assists and 11 digs. 

UP NEXT:
The Lions will be on the road on Wednesday, heading to Lexington, Ky. to take on one of the other HCAC leaders the Transyvlania Pioneers. The match is scheduled to get underway at 7:00 PM.
