Lions Head to Cleveland to Play John Carroll in NCAA Playoffs

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph football team has earned a berth in the NCAA D-III Playoffs, and will head north to Cleveland to take on the Blue Streaks of John Carroll on Saturday. The game will kickoff at 12:00 PM.

The Mount is entering the NCAA Playoffs for the third consecutive year and eighth time in program history. This will be the first matchup in history for these two programs. 

On paper these two squads are nearly identical, John Carroll comes into the game averaging 41.0 ppg while the Lions are averaging 40.9 ppg. The Mount holds a slight edge in total offense averaging 504.7 ypg while JCU averages 444.5.

The teams also both enter the game with identical 8-2 overall records. John Carroll finished the season second in the OAC, earning an at-large bid into the 40-team field. The Mount earned their spot by winning their third consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title.
