CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph men's basketball team wrapped up their 2024 non-conference schedule with a 72-63 win over Wittenberg on Wednesday.
WIttenberg jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead, before an 11-2 run gave the Lions the early advantage. With 7:13 to play in the first half the score was tied at 17, over the next nearly 5 minutes the lead exchanged hands 4 times. The Mount closed the half on a 7-2 run to take a 30-25 lead into the halftime break.
Coming out of the halftime break the Lions quickly seized control, opening with a 17-3 run over the first 5:47 of action. From that point the never looked back, eventually winning the game 72-63.
Josh Batte led a trio of Lions in double-figures with a career-high 17-points. The senior went 4-of-9 from three point range, after struggling shooting in the early part of the season.
Luke Collinsworth (16) and
Elisha Jones (15) were the other Lions in double-figures scoring.
