Cincinnati, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph University women's volleyball team bounced back from a tough first-set loss to defeat Bluffton University in four sets on Senior Night. Despite a delayed start to the day, the Lions showed resilience and determination, rallying after dropping the opening set.
Tonight's match marked a special celebration for the Lions' five seniors:
Mary Kolb,
Grace Wilking,
Lauren Silbernagel,
Jasmine Butler, and
Maddie Taylor. Wilking, in particular, had a standout performance, not only honoring Senior Night but also reaching the 1,000-dig milestone in the third set. She finished with 18 digs and four assists, playing a key defensive role throughout the match.
On the offensive side,
Emma Sicking led the way for the Lions with 16 kills. Bluffton fought hard, taking the first set 25-18, and kept each of the following sets competitive. Bluffton's standout player, Barnett, recorded 13 kills, but the Lions' defense was up to the task, finishing with 34 digs as a team.
Next Up – The Lions will wrap up their regular season with a trip to Franklin College to face the Grizzlies. Sitting in second place in the HCAC standings, the Lions are poised to secure a strong position in the upcoming conference tournament with a win over Franklin.
