Richmond, Ind. – The Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team faced off against the Earlham College Quakers in an intense road game on Saturday, securing a hard-fought 63-57 victory. The Lions started strong, leading for most of the game, but the Quakers mounted a fierce comeback in the second half to keep the contest close.
Senior guard Anyiah Murphy led the Lions with 18 points, showcasing her scoring prowess. Close behind was Morgan Jenkins, who contributed 17 points and played a pivotal role in maintaining the team's composure during critical moments. Dominating the boards, Madison Drummonds and Jenkins each recorded 12 rebounds, anchoring the Lions' presence in the paint.
Despite holding the lead through much of the contest, the Lions faced a strong push from the Quakers in the fourth quarter. With just over three minutes remaining, Earlham scored to bring the game within five points and eventually took the lead with two minutes left. However, Jenkins responded under pressure, sinking a clutch jumper and a layup to reclaim the advantage for the Lions.
The Mount's defensive effort and late-game resilience proved crucial in securing the 63-57 win on the road.
