BLUFFTON, Ohio – On Wednesday, the Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team went on the road for their first HCAC matchup against the Bluffton Beavers.
The first quarter was back and forth, coming to a close with the Beavers ahead by a point, but the Mount would take control in the second quarter. At the halftime break, the Lions had taken a five-point lead, and they would never look back. In the second half, MSJ was able to build on their lead, and the contest ended in a 73-66 victory for Mount St. Joe.
The Lions were lead in scoring by Aniyah Murphy's 22 points, and Murphy was a menace on the defensive end as well, finishing the match with six steals.
Morgan Jenkins also filled up the stat sheet for the Mount with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals to help cap off their winning effort.
