CINCINNATI, Ohio – On Saturday February 17
th, the Mount St. Joseph Women's Lacrosse team opened their season at home as they hosted the Muskingum Fightn' Muskies. Although the Lions would fall short in the matchup, many different Lions would have a positive impact to start the season.
After falling behind early in quarter number one, the Lions would fight back offensively with a pair of second quarter goals from Kat Gillman along with a goal in the third to earn her first hat-trick of the young season.
Abby Cole would also have a respectable performance with three goals herself and scooping up 8 ground-balls on the afternoon. In the goal,
Alissa Carlson would make her Lions debut saving 15 shots for The Mount.
The Lions will look to get back on track in the next matchup when they travel on the road to Wittenberg University on February 28
th. The matchup is set to begin at 6:00 PM.
