Offensive Explosion Leads Baseball to a 16-5 Win at Hanover

MADISON, Indiana - The Mount St. Joseph baseball team bounced back after dropping a pair of games at Hanover on Saturday, dominating the Panthers enroute to a 16-5 win. With the win the Lions moved to 15-15 on the season and 10-5 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on the season.

The Lions offense was the story of this game, banging out 16-hits as a team, with six different players having multi-hit performances. Andrew Harrison led the way with a 3-for-3 day, Jake Lawson also notched three hits in his six at-bats. Anton Mere, Jordan Harley, Jackson Gutzwiller and Matt Brankamp each had a pair of hits in the ball game. Brankamp had a fantastic day with four RBI's, three runs scored and a pair of walks.

The Lions sent Ethan Mason to the mound to start game three of the series against Hanover. The sophomore was solid throwing the front 4.0 innings allowing five earned runs while striking out three. 

Matt Frye pitched the final 3.0 innings, walking four but not allowing a single hit and striking out three. 

UP NEXT:
The Lions will play welcome Maryville College to Cincinnati on Tuesday night, playing a single game scheduled at 5:00 PM at Midland Field in Batavia, Ohio.
