LEXINGTON, Kentucky - The Mount softball team when into championship Saturday, needing a win over the two seed Franklin to meet Transy in the finals for the fourth consecutive season. The Lions got the game one victory vs. the Grizzlies 5-3, but would fall in the championship game to the Pioneers 5-3.
The Lions had an outstanding weekend, going 4-2 overall in the HCAC tournament. They did so with wins over Earlham (twice), Franklin and Manchester, their losses came to Franklin to send them into the loser's bracket and Transy in the championship game.

Macy Cornelius were named to the 2024 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Tournament team.
Kemp was unbeleivable on the weekend for the Lions, in the circle she pitched all but one inning for the Lions. She started all six games with five complete games, over 37 innings she allowed only 13 earned runs and struck out 12, going 4-2 on the weekend. She also was great with the bat with a .467 average, 7 hits and an RBI.
Maddie Kennedy led the offense with a .500 average, a double and a team-high 6 RBIs.
Macy Cornelius was the sparkplug atop the Lions order all weekend with a .353 average, a team-high 6 walks, 4 runs scored, a double along with going 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts.
The Mount finshes their season 26-16 overall, eclipsing the 25-win plateu for the fourth consecutive season.
