Columbus, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph Lions women's soccer team traveled to Columbus to face the Capital Comets following a hard-fought win at John Carroll University. Building on their momentum, the Lions came out strong, scoring early in the 17th minute with a goal from Mckenzie Schneeman.
Both teams were evenly matched, with equal shots and saves throughout the game. However, the Lions managed to spread their offensive pressure consistently over the full 90 minutes. They maintained their lead until the 78th minute when Capital found the back of the net to equalize.
The second half was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading shots and making key substitutions to keep up the intensity. Despite the constant offensive efforts, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
NEXT UP: The Lions will host their first HCAC match of the season against Manchester on Saturday, September 28. It will be senior day for the women's soccer team, so come out and support the Lions as they aim for their first conference victory!
