NEW CONCORD, Ohio – On Saturday the Mount St. Joseph men's soccer team went on the road to face the Muskingum University Muskies. Mount St. Joe opened the scoring just before the quarter hour mark; forward
Willis Johnson spun between two Muskingum defenders before tucking it in the bottom corner past the keeper and putting the Lions ahead 1-0.
Unfortunately, the lead was short-lived as the Muskies were able to equalize just four minutes later, and after conceding again later in the half, Mount St. Joe would go into the break down two goals to one.
The Lions battled hard for the second half comeback testing the keeper with 13 shots in the second period alone, but ultimately it was not enough. The Muskies doubled their lead late and would go on to see out the game winning by a score of 3-1.
UP NEXT: The Mount St. Joe men's soccer team will attempt to rebound on the road again against Wittenberg University.
