Hanover, Ind. – The Mount St. Joseph Lions hit the road Wednesday night for a crucial HCAC rematch against the Hanover College Panthers, determined to even the season series. After falling to the Panthers earlier in the season, the Lions bounced back with a hard-fought 63-56 victory.
Offensively, Madison Drummonds led the charge for the Lions, pouring in 22 points to pace the offense. Karlee Mills followed closely behind with 18 points, shooting an impressive 50% from beyond the arc while adding three assists to fuel the Lions' attack.
Dominating the boards, Hailey Guingrich controlled the glass with a game-high 13 rebounds, while also dishing out four assists. Morgan Jenkins added to the inside presence with nine rebounds, helping the Lions outwork the Panthers on the boards. As a team, The Mount finished the night with 42 total rebounds, a key factor in their road win.
With the victory, the Lions and Panthers now split the season series, each securing a win on the road.
Next up- The Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team will return home to host Franklin College on February 5th at 7:00 PM inside the Harrington Center.
