CINCINNATI, OHIO — The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team defeated Earlham College 3-1 at Schueler Field Saturday night, celebrating Senior Night.
The Lions dominated the first half, taking thirteen shots compared to the Quakers' one. In the 32nd minute, Mary Anhofer scored off an assist from Khloe Young, giving the Mount a 1-0 lead. In the 40th minute, Preslee Rugg scored off a cross from Gabrielle Eagan, extending the Lions' lead to 2-0. The Lions went into halftime leading 2-0.
The Lions started the second half strong, with Payge Callahan finding the back of the net in the 53rd minute to give the Mount a 3-0 lead. In the 79th minute, Earlham scored off a penalty kick, cutting into the Lions' lead. The Mount held the Quakers to just three total shots for the match and went on to win 3-1.
UP NEXT: The Lions will continue HCAC play as they welcome Berea College to Schueler Field on Wednesday, October 22nd. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
