Lions Win 2-0 on Road

NORTH MANCHESTER, INDIANA — The Mount St. Joseph University men's soccer team defeated Manchester University 2-0 on the road Saturday afternoon.

The first half was dominated by the Mount, as they tripled the Spartans' shots. The defense was outstanding, allowing Manchester to take only two shots on goal, with goalkeeper Carson Sabers needing to make just one save—Manchester's only shot on goal for the match. In the 27th minute, Brady Diedenhofer scored off an assist from Nathaniel Knuth, giving the Mount a 1-0 lead that they would carry into halftime.

In the second half, Brady Diedenhofer scored his second goal of the match off a pass from Eric Slavey, doubling the Lions' lead. The Mount's defense continued to shine, allowing only two shots in the second half, none of which were on goal. With the 2-0 win, the Lions have clinched a spot in the HCAC tournament.

UP NEXT: The Lions will travel to Bluffton, Ohio, to take on Bluffton University on Wednesday, October 29, to wrap up HCAC play. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
