HANOVER, INDIANA – The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team defeated Hanover College 2-1 on the road.
The Lions' offense came out strong as Layla Youtsler netted her first goal of the season off an assist from Kendal Fox in the 9th minute. The Panthers scored twenty minutes later, tying the game. The match continued to go back and forth in the first half, eventually going into halftime tied 1-1.
The second half was a back-and-forth match, with both teams getting opportunities to take the lead. Lions' goalie Megan Kallmeyer made an outstanding save in the 66th minute to keep the match tied. In the 79th minute, Kendal Fox found the back of the net, giving the Mount a 2-1 lead. The Lions' defense held onto the lead, not allowing the Panthers to get a shot off to end the match.
