CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph women's lacrosse team got their second win of the season on Saturday, taking down Lawrence 18-4.
The Mount dominated the action in this one, taking a commanding 5-0 lead into the second quarter of action. In the first they got a pair of goals from both
Abby Cole and
Aly Young, with
Jordan Wetmore scoring the fifth.
Lawrence would get on the board in the second scoring their first goal just 47 seconds into the period. They would go on to score three in the period, but the Lions answered with seven more of their own. Helping them take a 12-3 lead into the intermission.
The Mount would add three more goals in the third and fourth quarters enroute to the 18-4 victory.
Aly Young scored a career-high 9 goals, and added a pair of assists for an 11 point day.
Abby Cole added fouur goals,
Jamie Turner scored 2 and added an assist for a 3 point game. The trio of
Rachel Winkler,
Erika Borges and Wetmore each added a goal as well.
