Cincinnati, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph University women's lacrosse team hosted Anderson University in a thrilling Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference showdown. Despite a valiant effort and a late-game surge, the Lions fell just short, dropping a narrow 13-12 contest to the visiting Ravens.
The Ravens opened the scoring with two quick goals in the first quarter, but the Lions answered back with Alyssa Young finding the net in the final seconds of the quarter to close the gap to 2-1.
In the second quarter, the Lions began to find their rhythm.

Jordan Wetmore led the charge, each finishing the game with four goals. MSJ added three more goals before halftime but still trailed 8-4 heading into the break.
Coming out of the half, the Lions struck fast with two goals and held Anderson scoreless for five minutes. After the Ravens responded, MSJ answered back with two more goals, cutting the deficit to just two heading into the final quarter.
With determination, the Lions tied the game at 11 in the fourth quarter, thanks to a clutch goal by Cole. However, Anderson edged back ahead and held on through the final minutes, handing the Lions a heartbreaking 13-12 loss on Saturday morning.
