Aly Young Scores New School Record 12 Goals in 24-12 Win over Franklin

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph women's lacrosse team wrapped up their 2025 season with a 24-12 win over Franklin on Saturday. 

It was a record setting day for first-year attacker Aly Young, who scored 12 of the Lions 24 goals. Her 12 goals were two more than the previous record of 10 held by Megan Dancer

Jordan Wetmore got the scoring started with a goal just 22 seconds into the game, which was assisted by Young. Young scored her first just 20 seconds later to put the Mount ahead 2-0. 

All told the Lions had six goals in the first quarter and led 6-2 after the first 15 minutes of action. Wetmore had a first quarter hat-trick, Young added two and Abby Cole scored once. 

The Lions scored five straight to open the second period, taking a commanding 11-2 lead. They would end the half leading 14-5, in the second Young scored three, Cole scored three, Wetmore one and in her final game on Schueler Field Rachel Winkler scored one..

The Mount added 13 more goals in the second half to cruise to the victory. 

To go along with her record setting goals performance, Young added three assists for a 15 point day which is also a new school record. Wetmore finished with 6 goals, Cole finished with five goals and an assist for 6 points. Winkler scored the Lions lone other goal and Jayden Wilson added an assist. Young also pitched in a game-high 10 ground balls. Alissa Carlson got the win between the pipes, registering 12 saves in the game.
