CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team kicked off the 2025 season in dominant fashion Friday night, securing a 2-0 victory over Ohio Wesleyan at Schueler Field.
The Lions wasted no time getting on the board, as Kendal Fox netted the opening goal in the 10th minute, finishing a well-placed assist from Lindsay Bevak. The early lead held firm through halftime, with the Lions controlling play and keeping the Battling Bishops at bay.
Just three minutes into the second half, the Lions doubled their advantage. This time, Fox turned provider, setting up Kaitlyn Lampe, who calmly slotted it home to make it 2-0.
The Lions' defense was rock-solid all evening, anchored by the backline of Payge Callahan, Mary Anhofer, Khloe Young, and Elizabeth Birri. Their cohesion and communication were on full display, allowing few chances and keeping the visitors off the scoreboard. Goalkeeper Megan Kallmeyer also played a key role, making timely saves to preserve the clean sheet.
