CINCINNATI, OHIO – The Mount St. Joseph University men's soccer team battled hard on Sunday evening but ultimately fell to the visiting Wittenberg University Tigers by a score of 4-0.
The Tigers struck early, finding the back of the net within the first two minutes of play to take a quick 1-0 lead. The Lions responded with intensity, and in the 24th minute, Mohit Naphray nearly equalized with a strong shot that struck the post—just inches away from leveling the match. Despite the Lions' efforts, Wittenberg added two more goals before halftime, taking a 3-0 lead into the break.
MSJ came out fighting in the second half, generating multiple shots on target and applying pressure on the Wittenberg defense. However, the Tigers would find the net once more to seal the 4-0 victory.
UP NEXT: The Lions return to action at home on Wednesday, September 3, when they host the Asbury Eagles at Schueler Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
