Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lion's Fall at Hiram 2-0

HIRAM, Ohio — The Mount St. Joseph men's soccer team was handed a 2-0 defeat on the road at Hiram College on Wednesday evening at Malmisur Stadium.

The first half of the match was a strategic battle, with both teams locked in a 0-0 deadlock at the break. Neither side could find the breakthrough despite a few early opportunities. The defenses on both sides were up to the task, closing down spaces and limiting chances for each attacking unit.

The second half saw Mount St. Joseph come out of the gates with an early spark. Just minutes after the restart, Brennan Lewis and Braden Buckner both tested the Hiram goalkeeper in the 51st minute, but both attempts were saved. Despite the early pressure from the Lions, it was Hiram who would strike first in the 55th minute. The Terriers took advantage of a well-timed opportunity to break the deadlock, going up 1-0.

Hiram then doubled their lead in the 68th minute, making it 2-0. Mount St. Joseph fought hard but couldn't find a way back into the game, and despite continued pressure, they were unable to break down the Hiram defense in the closing stages.

Up Next: The Lions will look to bounce back when they host Ohio Christian at Schueler Field on Thursday, September 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM.
