CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team fell 3-0 to John Carroll on Sunday at Schueler Field.
The first half was a defensive battle, with both teams limiting offensive opportunities. The defensive lines were sharp, rarely allowing the opposition to break through with any real threat. Lions' goalkeeper Megan Kallmeyer made several key saves in the first half, keeping the game scoreless at the break.
In the second half, the Blue Streaks came out firing, scoring in the 57th, 66th, and 89th minutes to secure a 3-0 victory. The Lions, who had fought hard in a gritty match against Marietta the day before, seemed to run out of steam as the game wore on.
UP NEXT: The Lions continue their homestand as they host Spalding University on Tuesday, September 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Schueler Field.
