CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph men's soccer team defeated Ohio Christian 4–1 at Schueler Field on Thursday evening.
In the first half, the Lions came out strong, scoring two goals within the first ten minutes of the match. In the sixth minute, Collin Schneeman sent a pass from the Lions' end to Brennan Lewis, who outran the defenders and placed the ball in the back of the net. Four minutes later, Presley Boyle struck a shot past the Trailblazers' goalkeeper, giving the Mount a quick 2–0 lead. The Lions' defense held firm as they went into halftime with the 2–0 advantage.
In the second half, the intensity didn't slow down, as Nathaniel Knuth scored off a fast break following a long pass from Brennan Lewis. Eight minutes later, the Mount added another goal from a corner kick, as Presley Boyle sent the ball into the box, where Ben Pechous headed it to Braden Bucker, who nodded it in for a goal. The Trailblazers pulled one back in the 81st minute, but the Lions held firm to secure a 4–1 victory.
