CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph University men's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Anderson in their HCAC opener at Schueler Field on Saturday.
In the first half, the Lions came out applying pressure. In the 16th minute, they finally broke through the Raven defense, scoring a goal off the right foot of Brennan Lewis, assisted by Ben Pechous. In the 36th minute, Brennan Lewis found the back of the net for a second time, this time from a pass by Presley Boyle. The Mount went into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
In the second half, Anderson wasn't going to go down without a fight, finding the back of the net in the 63rd minute. In the 82nd minute, they scored again to tie the game at 2-2. The Lions continued to fight, and with less than two minutes left on the clock, Eric Slavey and Braden Buckner both hit the post, nearly breaking the tie.
Up Next: The Lions will travel to Tiffin, Ohio, on Wednesday, October 1st, where they will take on Heidelberg University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
