CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Anderson University on Saturday evening at Schueler Field.
In the first half, it was a defensive battle, with both teams struggling to create offensive opportunities. Both goalkeepers played exceptionally well, denying any chances to score. The match went into halftime tied 0-0.
In the second half, both teams found their offensive rhythm. In the 64th minute, Elizabeth Birri found the back of the net off an assist from Mary Anhofer, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later, the Ravens responded, scoring to tie the game at 1-1. In the 83rd minute, Mary Anhofer scored, assisted by Preslee Rugg. A minute later, Anderson struck again, leveling the game at 2-2.
Up Next: The Lions will travel to Tiffin, Ohio, on Sunday, September 28th, to take on Heidelberg University. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
