Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team fell 4-0 to No. 3 Christopher Newport University on Sunday morning at Captains Field, wrapping up their road trip.
Christopher Newport came out with intensity from the opening whistle, finding the back of the net in the 9th, 19th, and 20th minutes to take an early 3-0 lead. The Captains added a fourth goal in the 51st minute to extend their advantage to 4-0.
Goalkeeper Megan Kallmeyer was a bright spot for the Lions, recording seven saves on the day. Her strong presence in goal helped keep the scoreline from growing larger and provided a steadying force for the defense.
UP NEXT: Mount St. Joseph falls to 1-2 on the season and will be on the road Wednesday night at 7:30 PM as they take on the Wittenberg Tigers in Springfield, Ohio.
