Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Jenkins Scores 1000th Point, Lions Fall at Anderson

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team headed to Anderson, Indiana, on Saturday, the team battled hard but ultimately came up short in a 77–64 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference loss to the Anderson University Ravens. It was a milestone performance by Lions senior Morgan Jenkins who drilled a jumper with 3:03 to play in the game, the basket gave her 19 points in the game and was the 1000th point in her MSJ career.

From the tip, the contest was tightly contested, with both teams exchanging baskets and defensive stops in a back-and-forth first quarter. MSJ struggled at times to find consistent offensive rhythm against Anderson's pressure, managing to keep the score close but unable to take control.

Jenkins led the Lions with a standout performance, finishing with 21 points to pace MSJ. Jenkins was efficient from the field and aggressive attacking the basket, keeping the Lions within striking distance throughout much of the matchup. Sam Price added a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, anchoring the boards and contributing on both ends.

Karlee Mills had a quieter scoring night compared to recent games, finishing with seven points. Other contributors chipped in as MSJ attempted to rally, but turnovers and missed opportunities at key moments allowed the Ravens to build separation late in the second half.

Defensively, MSJ competed throughout but could not consistently slow Anderson's scoring in crucial stretches. The Ravens capitalized on transition opportunities to extend their lead, making it difficult for the Lions to close the gap down the stretch.

By the final buzzer, Anderson secured the conference victory, handing Mount St. Joseph a tough road loss. The Lions will look to take positives from the effort and continue building as HCAC play moves forward.

UP NEXT: The Lions will hit the road again on Wednesday, they will head to Franklin, Indiana to take on the Grizzlies in another big HCAC matchup.
