CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph baseball team defeated the Wilmington Quakers 12-5 on Tuesday night behind an offense that scored 12 runs on 15 hits.
Senior
Daniel Brayton got the start in the game, he pitched the front 4.0 innings allowing three hits and one earned run.
The Lions scored first with an two-out RBI single from
Ethan Mason that scored
AJ Meyer. After the Quakers tied the game in the second the Mount scored twice in the bottom of the third to pull back ahead.
Will Record led off with a single and stole second,
Jordan Harley then bunted for a hit. With runners at first and third Harley stole second and Record stole home, Wilmington committed an error on the play allowing Harley to come around to score.
Wilmington scored on in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 3-2, thats when the Lions offense exploded. In the bottom of the fourth they sent 12 batters to the plate, scored seven runs and banged out 7 hits. Meyer, Record,

Brennan Martin and
Zac Clow each had RBIs in the inning.
Joseph Mossbarger pitched three innings of effective relief to earn the win, he allowed three hits, one earned run and struck out three.
The Mount added a single run in the sixth and the eighth innings to secure the win.
Mason paced the offense with a three-hit night, while Meyer, Record, Harley, Martin and Clow each registered a pair of hits.
