CINCINNATI, Ohio – Mount St. Joseph University Vice President and Director of Athletics
Melanee Wagener has announced the appointment of
Marc Sabin as the sixth Head Coach of the Mount St. Joseph Women's Soccer program.
Sabin brings more than 25 years of coaching experience at the collegiate, academy, and elite youth levels to the Lions. Since joining Mount St. Joseph as an assistant coach in 2021, he has played an integral role in player development, recruiting, and the continued growth of the women's soccer program.
"We are excited to name Marc Sabin as the next head coach of our women's soccer program," said Wagener.
"Marc has been an integral part of our program over the past five years, and his experience, leadership, and commitment to our student-athletes made him the clear choice to lead our team. We are confident he will continue to build on our program's strong foundation and lead our student-athletes to success both on and off the field."
Sabin holds one of the most accomplished coaching résumés in the region. He is a United States Soccer Federation "A" License coach, holds the USSF National Youth License and the United Soccer Coaches Director of Coaching Diploma, and has received international coaching education through Club Estudiantes de La Plata in Argentina.
Before arriving at Mount St. Joseph, Sabin spent more than a decade with Ohio Elite Soccer Academy, serving in several leadership positions including Associate Director of Coaching, Boys Junior Program Director, Senior Staff Coach, International Training Program Director, and College Showcase Liaison. He also served as Associate Director of Coaching for Classics Hammer FC and worked with both the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association's Olympic Development Program at the district and state levels.
Sabin's experience extends to the collegiate game through years as a staff coach at both the Indiana University Soccer Camp and the University of Louisville Soccer Camp. Throughout his career, he has coached players competing in the ECNL, U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA), USYS National League, US Club National Premier "Leagues, and NCAA Division III.

After spending the past five years as an assistant coach, I am truly honored to continue being part of this special program" said Coach Sabin.

A former player at the University of Kentucky, Sabin has dedicated his career to developing players both on and off the field. His coaching philosophy emphasizes technical excellence, tactical understanding, competitive character, and creating an environment where student-athletes can excel academically, athletically, and personally.
