FRANKLIN, Indiana - The Mount St. Joseph University women's volleyball team put together a good weekend of matches at the Franklin College Tournament, finishing the weekend with a strong 3-1 record and capping it off with a hard-fought victory over Aurora University.

MATCH ONE | MSJ 0-3 Greenville University (23-25, 18-25, 22-25)

To kick off the weekend action, the Lions squared off against Greenville University in a familiar matchup, having just faced them the previous week. Looking to build on that prior success, MSJ came out firing in a highly competitive contest. However, despite trading heavy blows throughout all three sets, the Lions ultimately came up just short in a tight 0-3 sweep. 

The Lions shared points across the board, with Kolozsy (8), Jackson (7), and Crider (5) leading the attack in kills for MSJ.

MATCH TWO | MSJ 3-0 Eureka College (25-16, 25-23, 25-16)

The second match of the day was a success for the Lions, taking a quick win 3-0 against the Eureka Red Devils. 

The offense ran smoothly through setters Ginger Johnson and Ava Moore, who orchestrated a field day with a combined 34 assists. Capitalizing on those opportunities, the Lions swung with great confidence as Crider and Jackson each hammered down 9 kills, while Kolozsy added another 8 to pace a balanced attack.

MATCH THREE | MSJ 3-0 Blackburn College (25-15, 25-15, 25-11)

Carrying their momentum into Saturday morning, the Lions put on a masterclass of control and consistency, rolling past Blackburn College in a swift 3-0 sweep.

Sydney Doty powered the offense with a season-high 10 kills, supported closely by Aubrey Miranda (9) and Grace Crider (8). Defensively, Lyndsey Stephenson anchored the back row, leading all players with 14 digs to keep MSJ safely in control.

MATCH FOUR | MSJ 3-1 Aurora University (19-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-23)

The Lions closed out the tournament in style, overcoming a first-set loss to rally off three straight set wins and defeat the Aurora Spartans 3-1.

Grace Crider led the charge offensively with a match-high 16 kills, while setter Ginger Johnson turned in a phenomenal performance with a season-high 28 assists. After dropping a tight opening frame (19-25), MSJ regrouped defensively and caught fire, taking a pair of pressure-packed sets (25-23, 25-23) either side of a dominant 25-15 third-set rout to secure a brilliant weekend in Indiana.
