GROVE CITY, Pennsylvania – The Mount St. Joseph University Women's Volleyball team wrapped up another tournament weekend at Grove City College, finishing the weekend with a 2-2 record. The Lions opened the tournament with a dominant 3-0 victory over Saint Vincent College before falling to tournament host Grove City College, 3-1. MSJ battled Case Western Reserve University in a five-set match on Saturday morning before closing the weekend with a 3-0 sweep of Waynesburg University.

MATCH 1 | MSJ 3-0 Saint Vincent College (25-11, 25-15, 25-22)
The Lions came out strong in their opening match, taking control from the first serve against Saint Vincent College. MSJ earned double-digit victories in the first two sets before closing out the match with a 25-22 third-set victory.

MSJ's offense featured a balanced attack led by Jackson(10), Miranda(9), and Kolozsy(7).  Ava Moore led the team with an assist of 17 as well as Ginger Johnson adding 15.

MATCH 2 | MSJ 1-3 Grove City College (14-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-27)

The Lions returned to the court later Friday against tournament host Grove City College. After dropping the opening set, MSJ answered with a 25-23 second-set victory to even the match at 1-1. Grove City regained the lead in the third before edging MSJ, 27-25, in a tightly contested fourth set.

Sydney Doty led the Lions at the net with 15 kills, while Lyndsey Stephenson anchored the defensive effort with a team-leading number of digs.

MATCH 3 | MSJ 2-3 Case Western Reserve University (25-14, 23-25, 23-25, 25-23, 10-15)
Saturday opened with a hard-fought five-set battle against Case Western Reserve University. MSJ dominated the opening set, 25-14, before Case Western Reserve took the next two. The Lions fought back with a 25-23 fourth-set victory to force a decisive fifth set, but ultimately fell 15-10.

Ginger Johnson and Ava Moore combined for 52 assists, while Jackson led the Lions with 16 kills, followed by Miranda with 13 and Crider with 11.

MATCH 4 | MSJ 3-0 Waynesburg University (25-3, 25-7, 28-26)
The Lions closed the weekend in dominant fashion against Waynesburg University. MSJ opened with a 25-3 victory and followed with a 25-7 win in the second set. Waynesburg pushed back in the third, but MSJ remained composed and secured a 28-26 victory to complete the sweep.Grace Crider led the Lions with 4 service aces, while Mary Kolozsy paced the offense with 7 kills.

MSJ closes the tournament with a 2-2 record and will look to carry its momentum into its upcoming matches.
